Implement business Dashbords with XtraBuild Designer

Dashboards are a great way of displaying real-time graphical representation of the current status or historical trends of your company’s data which enable you to make instantaneous and informed decisions.

Generaly used to track KPIs, metrics, and other key data points relevant to a business, department, or specific process through the use of data visualizations, dashboards simplify complex data sets to provide a high level status of current performance.

In XtraBuild Designer, dashboard is implemented using Dashboard Views. As the rest of the views, thease are found in the Analitycs section of the Desktop ribbon bar, in the same location as chart views and report views.

As any business level dashboard, XtraBuild Designer dashbords allow you to implement pivot tables, data grids, various types of charts, tables, gauges, cards, images and text.

Some more specific data visualisations are available like choropleth maps which use differences in shading or colouring, or placement of symbols within predefined areas to indicate the calculated values of a particular quantity in those areas.

Geo point maps are also part of data visualisations used in Dashboard views that allow you to place callouts, bubbles or pies on the map using geographical coordinates.

If any of these features sound a bit complex, you won’t have to worry about it because you won’t have to write a single line of code to implement them. All dashboards implemented with XraBuild Designer are visualy built and follow the WYSIWYG principle.

To get to a more granular data level, you can implement generic data filters, parameters and range filters which will allow you narro your data set even more.

A key feature of Dashboard views is the multi data source support. If you’re already using a legacy database like Microsoft SQL Server or rely on a cloud database storage like Amazon Redshift, you will be able to create business dashboards on top of them.

You can have multiple connections to database providers such as Microsoft, Oracle, MySQL, Amazon, Google and many others or have other datasource connection to Olap cubes or Excel workbooks.

As other views available in XtraBuild Designer, Dashboard Views can be linked to customizable buttons of a ribbon bar. This allows for a quicker access within your custom desktop application.

So if you have data stored in multiple databases, excells, Olap cubes or your own custom XtraBuild application tables, you can start making sound data driven decisions by implementing complex business dashboards right away. Download a free trial today.
